JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Wanda Evers won the primary runoff election for Hinds County Supervisor of District 4.

Evers defeated incumbent Supervisor Vern Gavin. She received 1,645 votes, while Gavin received 1,255 votes.

Evers is the daughter of the late Charles Evers and the niece of the late Medgar Evers.
