JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Justis Gibbs, a Democrat, has won the House District 72 primary runoff election.

Gibbs defeated Rukia Lumumba in Tuesday’s race.

The two were vying to replace former Rep. Debra Gibbs, the mother of Justis Gibbs, who was elected as a Hinds County Circuit Court judge.
