ATTALA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A severe storm caused damage in Attala County Wednesday night.

According to storm reports, the roof of the Strand Theatre was damaged, as well as the roof of the Star-Herald Building.

A radio station tower fell on the Boswell Media building. WLIN-Breezy 101 reported that one person was in the building when a tree fell onto one of the tower’s support wires, causing the collapse. Nobody was injured.

WCKK (Kicks 96.7) and WKOZ (Cruisin’ 98.3) went back on the air early Thursday, using a transmitter in another community. Engineers were working to get Breezy 101 back on the air, as well.

Neighbors in the Jackson-metro area also saw lightning, strong winds and rain.
