JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV)-More than twenty former NFL players and coaches will be in Jackson at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Thursday evening to honor former NFL player and Hinds County Constable, Leon Seals.
The players are coming together from 5:30 pm – 7:30pm to show their support for Seals in his run for Hinds County Sheriff.
Seals played in the NFL from 1987 – 1992 and played in two Super Bowls with the Buffalo Bills.
“I’ve been in law enforcement for thirty two years; sixteen in the Hinds County Sheriff’s department under Malcolm McMillin. I’ve seen this department at its best and I’ve seen it at its worst. I want to restore it and rebuild it to the commitment it once was,” says Seals.
“I began my career in law enforcement when I was playing in the NFL in the off-season. I have always loved this field and I have always known that this is what I was meant to do. I’ve served in just about every position from jailer to captain.”
“More than twenty NFL legends will be here tomorrow and I’m honored that they are supporting me. I would love for anybody who can to come out and meet us at the event. It will be a great evening,” says Seals.
The event is ticketed at $100 per couple with host level sponsorships available.
