JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – One person died after car crashed into the side of the Clarion-Ledger newspaper building around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.
The driver, Kathryn Blakenship, was arrested. She was allegedly speeding, and hit a parked car before running into the building.
Witnesses on the scene said EMT pulled a child from the back of the car to perform CPR. The child was then rushed to the hospital.
Jackson Deputy Chief Deric Hearn said the person that died was a passenger in the car.

A Clarion-Ledger employee said the West and Pearl Streets intersection has always been dangerous due to speeding.
