LIST: School closures due to severe weather on March 30

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Due to the possibility of severe weather on Wednesday, March 30, some schools will close.

Central Mississippi

  • ADHIAMBO School – Classes will dismiss at 12:00 p.m.
  • Ambition Preparatory Charter School – Classes will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
  • Attala County Schools – Will dismiss at 12:30 pm.
  • Belhaven University – Classes cancelled after 1:00 p.m.
  • Brookhaven School District – Classes will dismiss at 11:30 p.m.
  • Canton Public School District – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • Central Hinds Academy – Early release
    • 11:15 a.m. – Elementary, Central Hinds Academy
    • 11:30 a.m. Secondary, Central Hinds Academy
  • Clinton Public School District – Early release
    • 11:00 a.m. – Clinton Park, Northside, Eastside
    • 11:45 a.m. – Lovett, Clinton Junior High School
    • 12:15 p.m. – Sumner Hill, Clinton High School
  • Copiah County School District – Classes will dismiss at 12:00 p.m.
  • East Central Community College – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • Hinds Community College – Campuses will dismiss in-person classes beginning at 11 a.m. All afternoon and evening classes will be virtual beginning at 11 a.m.
  • Hinds County School District
    • Dismiss at 11:00 a.m. – Bolton-Edwards Elementary/Middle School, Raymond Elementary School, Utica Elementary/Middle School, Carver Middle School/Life Skills, Gary Road Elementary, and Gary Road Intermediate
    • All students on the following campuses will follow a virtual schedule – Terry High School, Raymond High School, Byram Middle School, and the Main Street ReStart Center
  • Holmes Community College – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • Holmes County Consolidated School District – Classes will dismiss at 11:00 a.m.
  • Jackson Public School District – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • Jackson State University – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • Kosciusko School District
    • Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:40 pm.
    • Junior High and High School will dismiss at 1:00 pm.
  • Lawrence County School District – Classes will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
  • Leake County School District – Classes will dismiss at 12:00 p.m.
  • Madison County School District – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • McComb School District – Classes to dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
  • Mississippi Achievement School District – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • Mississippi College (Clinton) – Campus to close at 1:30 p.m.
  • Mississippi State University – Starkville and Meridian campuses will transition to remote learning and telework beginning at 3 p.m. Afternoon and evening classes will continue online.
  • Natchez-Adams School District – Cancelled
  • New Hope Christian School – Dismisses at 1:00 p.m.
  • Park Place Christian Academy – Closes at 11:30 a.m.
  • Pearl Public School District – Early release
    • Elementary schools (PK-5th grade) will dismiss at 11:00 a.m.  
    • PJHS and PHS will dismiss at 11:50 a.m.
  • Porter’s Chapel Academy – Closed
  • Rankin County School District – Closed
  • Redeemer’s School – Dismisses at 11:15 a.m.
  • Tougaloo College – Classes will switch to virtual learning
  • University of Mississippi – Oxford campus will close at 12:00 p.m.
  • Vicksburg Catholic School – Dismiss at 10:00 a.m.
  • Vicksburg Warren School District – Cancelled
  • Wilkinson County School District – Closed
  • Williamsville Christian Academy – Will release at noon.
  • Yazoo County School District – Classes dismiss at 12:00 p.m.

    • CES – 12:40 p.m.
    • CMS – 12:50 p.m.
    • CHS – 1:00 p.m.
    • HES – 1:00 p.m.
    • MOAC – 1:00 p.m.
    • Seminary – 12:45 p.m.
  • Laurel School District – Early release
    • Oak Park Elementary – 1:30 p.m.
    • Mason Elementary – 1:30 p.m.
    • Laurel Magnet School of the Arts – 2:00 p.m.
    • Laurel Upper Elementary 2:00 p.m.
    • Laurel Middle School – 2:30 p.m.
    • Laurel High School – 2:45 p.m.
