JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot in the back.
The shooting happened on Conner Avenue on Monday, July 18.
Deputy Police Chief Deric Hearn said the victim was shot after trying to buy a cigarette. Police believe the suspect w as an acquaintance of the victim.
As of Monday evening, the victim was listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
