LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WJTV) – A 12-year-old Louisville girl was killed after being hit by an SUV.

WCBI reported the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21 in the 300 block of Brooksville Road. Police said the girl was standing near a mailbox when she was hit by the vehicle.

The girl was taken to the Winston County Medical Center. She died from her injuries.

Louisville police said this is an ongoing investigation.
