VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was shot and killed at Waltersville Estates in Vicksburg.

Vicksburg police said they received a call about a disturbance on Thursday, April 13 just before 10:00 p.m. on Kings Drive.

Officers said they found 22-year-old Shemar J. Smith, of Vicksburg, in the 200 block of Walters Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County coroner.

Police said 17-year-old Markevius D. Sturdivant, of Vicksburg, was arrested and charged with first degree murder. He appeared in court on Friday, April 14 and received a $2,000,000 bond.
