PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two people were killed due to a crash on Interstate 55 in Pike County.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said the crash happened on Sunday, January 21 just after 8:30 p.m.

Troopers said a 2007 Cadillac Escalade was traveling south on I-55 when the vehicle left the roadway, overturned and collided with a tree.

According to MHP, the two passengers, 25-year-old Carlos Gonzalez and 19-year-old Oscar Gonzalex, both of McComb, died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
