Bond set at $2 million for Brandon man accused of killing spouse

BRANDON, Miss. (WJTV) – Bond has been set for the man accused of killing his spouse in Brandon.

Investigators said 35-year-old Tyler Gorrell made his initial appearance on Monday, January 29. His bond was set at $2,050,000.

Gorrell also faces two additional charges, which are tampering with evidence and direction or causing a youth to commit a felony.

His preliminary hearing has been set for Wednesday, January 31.

Gorrell was arrested after officers responded to a home on Rockford Court around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27.

Police said they received a call about an accidental death at the home. When officers arrived, they became suspicious about the actual cause of death of the victim. They determined the victim appeared to have died from a gunshot wound.

On Saturday, Gorrell charged with murder and felony possession of a controlled substance.
