BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (WJTV) – One man was killed and another was injured during a shooting in Brookhaven.

The Daily Leader reported the shooting happened just after midnight on Sunday, January 28 at a home on East Chippewa Street.

When officers arrived at the location, they found one man deceased from a gunshot wound. Brookhaven Police Chief Kenneth Collins identified the man as Carlos Smith, 46.

The second man, who was identified as Craig Dunbar, had been shot and was taken by a private vehicle to Southwest Mississippi Medical Center in McComb.

Investigators believe a fight led to the shooting.
