VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – Vicksburg police arrested a woman after a 75-year-old man died during a house fire.
Police said Carolyn Mansfield, 50, of Vicksburg, was arrested on Tuesday, February 6. She was charged with arson and murder.
The fire happened on Friday, February 2 at a home in the 500 block of Speed Street. After firefighters extinguished the fire, they discovered the body of Ernest Gleese inside.

Mansfield appeared in court on Wednesday, February 7. Her bond was set at $1,750,000.
Officials with the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office said authorities are searching for 74-year-old Albert Thomas in connection to the case. He faces charges of first degree murder and arson. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.
According to authorities, Thomas is the boyfriend of Mansfield.
