COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two horses died and three people were injured during a crash in Copiah County.
Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 11 on U.S. 51 North near Martinsville.
Troopers said a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling north on the highway when it collided with two horses that each had riders. The driver and both horse riders were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson. Their injuries are unknown.
Both horses died at the scene. This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
