JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – All lanes of I-55 North before the Elton Road exit in Hinds County were blocked due to an accident.

One vehicle caught fire at the location, and another vehicle overturned on Saturday, February 17.

An alert from the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) said the southbound lanes were also affected. The left, southbound lanewas blocked while crews respond to the scene.

Traffic in the northbound lane slowly moved past the scene on the shoulder.
