ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two Mississippi men have been arrested and one is wanted in connection to a multi-state stolen vehicle ring.

On February 24, Adams County deputies stopped a Ford Mustang on Highway 61 North near the Northgate shopping center. During the stop, deputies discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said the driver, Ricky Ellis, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

On January 7, Adams County deputies recovered a blue Ford F-150 on Harlem Lane in the Lagrange area. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Bossier Parish, Louisiana.

After interviewing witnesses, Patten said deputies have enough evidence to charge Henry Washington, Jr., with receiving stolen property (the blue F-150) and Sahmaad Grayson with two counts of possession of stolen property (Ford Mustang and the blue Ford F-150).

Washington was arrested on February 26. Patten said Grayson is believed to be out of state.

According to the sheriff, Grayson is currently out on bond for an arrest on February 11 in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Grayson was also arrested on December 10, 2023, by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for possession of stolen vehicle.

Patten stated that his agency has been working with multiple agencies in Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana. He said this is a multi-state stolen vehicle ring that scams people out of their cars after posing as buyers.
