RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man, who was sentenced in connection to the Kingston Frazier case and later released on parole, has been arrested on drug charges in Rankin County.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said law enforcement agencies made a controlled purchase of 30 dosage units of MDMA/Ecstasy and one ounce of marijuana from D’Allen Washington, 24, in a parking lot in Flowood.
After a short chase, Bailey said Washington was arrested and transported to the Rankin County Jail. He was booked on the charges of sale of MDMA, sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
According to the sheriff, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) agents will submit all evidence to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for testing.
Bailey said Washington has an additional sale of controlled substance charge the he will be indicted on, and he is currently on probation for armed robbery. The sheriff said the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) has been contacted.
Washington pled guilty in 2018 to accessory after the fact to kidnapping Frazier and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was released early by an order from the Mississippi Parole Board.
Authorities said Frazier was inside a car that was stolen outside the Kroger on I-55 on May 18, 2017. The car was later found abandoned in Madison County, and Frazier was found shot to death. Two other men were convicted in the case.
Bailey said the ongoing fentanyl investigation revealed that there is a high probability that Washington has a direct tie to a fentanyl overdose death in Rankin County.
