THE BAHAMAS (WJTV) – Officials with the Royal Bahamas Police Force said they’re investigating an alleged drowning of a tourist from Mississippi.
Police in Abaco said they received a call just after 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27 about the incident. They said the 68-year-old Mississippi man had fallen from a vessel near Tilloo Cay.
Police said the victim was standing on the edge of the vessel when he accidentally fell into the water. Two passengers entered the vessel’s dingy in an attempt to rescue him.
According to police, the victim was retrieved from the water in an unresponsive state and administered CPR until his arrival to the local clinic. The unidentified man was pronounced deceased.
