Man accused of killing nephew in Mississippi arrested in Texas

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The man accused of killing his nephew in Mississippi has been arrested in Texas.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said Jeremiah Keyes was arrested on Tuesday, February 27 in Terrell, Texas. He’s being held and awaiting extradition back to Hinds County to face murder charges.

According to Terrell police, officers located Keyes’ vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 20 West. They found Keyes in the vehicle, along with Jonjala Lee, of Jackson, Mississippi.

Keyes was arrested by Terrell police on the homicide warrant out of Hinds County. Police said Lee was also arrested for unlawful carrying of a weapon due to drugs and a weapon being located in the vehicle.

Jones said Keyes killed his nephew, Vicatavius Hobson. According to investigators, Keyes had prior convictions for armed robbery and aggravated assault.
