JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating armed robberies that took place at two businesses on Wednesday, February 28.
Detective Tommie Brown said the first robbery happened at the Family Dollar on Terry Road Wednesday evening. He said the second robbery happened 30 minutes later at the Dollar General on Raymond Road.
According to investigators, one suspect was an unidentified Black male wearing all black clothing with gloves and a hood. Brown said the suspect used an assault rifle during the robberies.
Investigators believe at least two suspects were involved in the robberies. They were traveling in a black Toyota Avalon bearing the license plate 2378MOE. Brown said the vehicle was stolen during a previous robbery that happened over the weekend.
The two suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous.
