JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said they arrested a man and a 17-year-old after a 13-year-old girl was injured during a shooting.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of Valley Street on Wednesday, February 28.

Detective Tommie Brown said the victim reported she was shot while lying in bed at her home. Police arrested 27-year-old Qunitarus Lewis and a 17-year-old were arrested in connection to the incident.

Lewis was charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling and drive-by shooting. He received a $450,000 bond.

The 17-year-old was charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling, drive-by shooting, possession of a stolen firearm and felony fleeing. The teen received a $500,000 bond.
