JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (March 1-3) around Mississippi.

Central Mississippi:

JXN Fish Fry – Jackson – Friday

  • Swing by the JXN Welcome Center for some mouthwatering fried fish provided by Penn’s Fish House, music vibes curated by DJ Java, and 10% off all merch all day long.

Southern Soul 1st Friday – Vicksburg – Friday

  • The 18th annual show presented by Too Sweet Productions will feature musicians Tre’Williams, Nellie Tiger Travis, Urban Mystic, Arthur Young, and a special guest performance by DJ KG In The Mix.

Jackson Symphony League Enchanted Evening Gala – Jackson – Friday

  • An evening of food, dancing, & a silent auction. The money raised at the JSL Gala assists with youth programming & the Premier Orchestral Institute.

Classical Laughs – Natchez – Friday

  • The event will include a cash bar, a silent action and music.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Attack of the Bloodsuckers – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Through 13 icky exhibits, guests learn the what, why, who, and when of how parasites live, work, and play an important part in our ecosystems.

Picasso Landscapes: Out of Bounds – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The first museum exhibition to showcase Pablo Picasso’s landscapes and the first ever Picasso solo exhibition to visit Mississippi.

Oman: Land, Sea and Spirit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Join the International Museum of Muslim Cultures for an explorer’s delight as they transport you to the beautiful lands of the Sultanate of Oman.

JXN Food & Wine Festival – Jackson – Saturday

  • All ticket holders will enjoy tastings from over 20 local and regional chefs, samples of wine, beer, spirits, and nonalcoholic offerings, a demo stage with Top Chefs and live music.

Run Thru History – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • The 45th Annual Vicksburg Run Thru History 10-K road race, 5-K walk, and 1-mile fun run will be held at the Vicksburg National Military Park.

Fossil Road Show – Jackson – Saturday

  • Bring your fossil discoveries to get expert opinions about their ages and identities from a team of scientists.

Tractors, Trucks, & Big Stuff – Madison – Saturday

  • Children can explore a variety of large trucks, heavy machinery, recreation vehicles, emergency vehicles, and much more!

Cerebral Palsy and Diamond Awareness Event – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • This event will be an opportunity for anyone interested in making a custom piece of jewelry or if you’re interested in creating a very special Awareness piece for a loved one or for yourself.

Save the Hall Ball 2024 – Natchez – Saturday

  • This Black Tie event is a fundraiser for the Preservation of Historic Stanton Hall & Longwood, and will feature an open bar, the dance band “Radio Incorporated,” and a late night breakfast.

Dr. Seuss Block Party – Natchez – Saturday

  • This year’s event will feature The Dinosaur Experience.

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

  • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

Wine ‘n’ Cheese & Bach “If You Please” – Natchez – Sunday

  • Tour Victorian Myrtle Terrace while sipping wine and nibbling on exquisite cheeses while Geoff entertains you with his favorite classical piano artists.

Business First Friday – Hattiesburg – Friday

12th Annual Pinebelt Women’s Expo – Hattiesburg – Friday and Saturday

  • This race is presented by the Oak Grove High School Student Council. It will benefit the Made by Dyslexia Organization.

3rd Hattiesburg SREA Rodeo – Hattiesburg – Saturday

  • The family-friendly rodeo will include 10 events. Jeter Jones is the scheduled artist to perform.

Touch-a-Truck – Laurel – Saturday

  • Children can explore vehicles of all types – public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation, delivery and “cool” trucks – in one place.

Laurel Leap Day – Laurel – Saturday

  • Basketball courts will be set up in the parking lot along Front Street with plenty of room in the bleachers for spectators to cheer on their favorite team.

Open Mic Night – Laurel – Saturday
