JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Leaders with the Jackson Public School District (JPS) are looking toward the future. They held a stakeholder session at Kirksey Middle School on Thursday, hoping to get the public’s input on a five-year plan.
The purpose of the meeting involved hearing what the community wants for the district’s next strategic plan. They were able to express what the district is doing well and what can be improved.
JPS officials said they will take the feedback into consideration as they decide what will be in their new plan for the next five years.
Superintendent Dr. Errick Greene said he’s looking for honest feedback from students, family members and the community.
“I don’t think I heard anything that was so surprising. Tonight, as we continue to gather information from various stakeholders, whether it’s community members, parents, scholars, team members or others, we’ll just keep trying to mash all of that up together and see where there may be conflicting priorities. But I haven’t heard any as yet,” Greene stated.
JPS will hold another stakeholder meeting on April 11 at Cardozo Middle School.
