Man dies during camper fire in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man died during a camper fire in Rankin County.

A Rankin County fire investigator said the fire happened before noon on Tuesday, March 5 at a home on Barker Road.

The investigator said the 64-year-old man was able to get out of the camper, but he died a few minutes later. They believe he died from smoke inhalation.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire, along with the fire investigator with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office.
