JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times.

The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 in the 1400 block of Porter Street.

Detective Tommie Brown said the victim, Jacoby Jenkins, left his home on Winter Street. He was walking before he was picked up by another person.

According to Brown, the person who picked up Jenkins ordered him out of the vehicle at an alley on Porter Street. Jenkins was then shot multiple times by an unidentified suspect.

He was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) where he was listed in critical condition.
