JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi House passed a bill on Thursday that would restore voting rights to felons and have certain felony crimes expunged after five years.
The bipartisan bill passed the House in a 96-11 vote.
Those convicted of arson, armed robbery, carjacking, embezzlement, murder, rape, statutory rape, or voter fraud would not be granted suffrage.
