JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police arrested a 14-year-old in connection to a shooting that critically injured a man.
Detective Tommie Brown said a warrant was obtained for the arrest of Julius Bonner on Thursday, March 7. He was taken into custody on an aggravated assault charge.
The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 in the 1400 block of Porter Street.
Brown said the victim, Jacoby Jenkins, left his home on Winter Street. He was walking before he was picked up by another person.
According to Brown, the person who picked up Jenkins ordered him out of the vehicle at an alley on Porter Street. Jenkins was then shot multiple times.
He was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) where he was listed in critical condition.
