JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (March 8-10) around Mississippi.

Central Mississippi:

Science Makers – Jackson – Friday

  • The event showcases interactive S.T.E.M. activities and discussions to inspire curiosity about educational and scientific career opportunities.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Spring Farm Days – Jackson – Friday and Saturday

  • This three-day event is an opportunity to come out and see the Ag Museum come to life! Enjoy cooking demonstrations by the MS Egg Marketing Board, learn about Farmstead life and gardening, and make sure to see the large farm and forestry equipment display.

Spring Pilgrimage – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Historic Homes of Natchez will host tours until April 28, 2024.

Attack of the Bloodsuckers – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Through 13 icky exhibits, guests learn the what, why, who, and when of how parasites live, work, and play an important part in our ecosystems.

Oman: Land, Sea and Spirit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Join the International Museum of Muslim Cultures for an explorer’s delight as they transport you to the beautiful lands of the Sultanate of Oman.

Gold in the Hills – Vicksburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The show is set in the 1890s and features a relentless hero, a winsome heroine, a ruthless villain, and the wilder side of city life in the New York Bowery.

NASA Day – Jackson – Saturday

  • Specialists from The John C. Stennis Space Center will be on-site for this special day filled with space exploration.

Country Western Dance Party – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • Dances will be led by the Mississippi Country Western Dancers’ Association.

Mississippi Symphony Orchestra Concert Alluvial Soundscapes – Jackson – Saturday

  • History meets symphony in composer James Lee III’s Visions of Cahokia, inspired by the ancient capital of Mississippian Native American culture that flourished along the waterways of North America before European contact.

“The Takeover” Runway Show – Jackson – Saturday

  • The show, which will be a celebration of art and fashion, will be held at the Mississippi E-Center.

Wine ‘n’ Cheese & Bach “If You Please” – Natchez – Saturday

  • Tour Victorian Myrtle Terrace while sipping wine and nibbling on exquisite cheeses while Geoff entertains you with his favorite classical piano artists.

BTC Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • There will be local vendors, live music, and small business pop ups!

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

  • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

Mississippi Anime Fest – Jackson – Saturday and Sunday

  • Mississippi Anime Fest will feature guests from anime, animation, and cosplay. Guests are scheduled to attend both days and be available for autographs and pictures.

Brick Fest Live – Jackson – Saturday and Sunday

  • With hands-on activities, life-size models, and celebrities, Brick Fest Live is the #1 event for brick lovers of all ages.

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Saturday and Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

Capital City Pride Drag Brunch – Jackson – Sunday

  • Enjoy the show, brunch and drinks at Hal & Mal’s.

Mulberry Brunch – Vicksburg – Sunday

  • Brunch includes a variety of delicious dishes like Chicken and Waffles, Shrimp and Grits, and an Interactive Waffle Station.

Master of Light Screening – Jackson – Sunday

  • The film follows a painter, George Anthony Morton, whose time in prison shaped his artistry to address traumas caused through race and class barriers.

Brownie Outdoor Adventurer Camp – Jackson – Sunday

  • Brownie Girl Scouts will go on a wildlife scavenger hunt, play wildlife-themed games, and build birdfeeders. Registration required.

Pine Belt:

Ballet Magnificant! – Hattiesburg – Friday

  • This will be a fundraiser to support Leaps of Faith.

New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

Hattiesburg Craft Beer Fest – Hattiesburg – Saturday

  • Attendees can sample over 100 craft beers while they listen to live music in the park.

Old School Festival – Laurel – Saturday

  • The event is part of the Napier’s Old School Parents Raising Engaged Youth (Osprey) grassroots initiative dedicated to helping kids achieve social media-free childhoods until they graduate high school.

An R-Rated Magic Show – Hattiesburg – Saturday
