Florida man accused of stealing agriculture equipment across Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Agents with the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) said deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office (SRSO) arrested a Florida man in connection to thefts of agriculture equipment across Mississippi.

Investigators said 52-year-old Mike Cosse was arrested in Santa Rosa County, Florida.

Cosse is accused of stealing multiple John Deere tractors and skid steers in Mississippi.

On March 1, 2024, Florida deputies arrested Cosse after conducting an investigation into the suspected crimes. Cosse is thought to have made more than $100,000 selling stolen equipment since late 2023.

According to the MALTB, Cosse was released from Santa Rosa County Jail on a $182,000 bond. This is an open and ongoing investigation with additional arrests and charges expected in Mississippi.
