JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – There’s a chance Mississippians could be affected by severe weather on Friday, and it’s important to stay safe.

Allie Jasper, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) Public Information Officer, said the state will continue to see storms throughout the Spring season. She encouraged Mississippians to be vigilant.

“Now is a great time to start building your disaster kit. Make sure you have some flashlights and extra batteries and food just in case you need it during this spring severe weather season,” Jasper stated.
