RANKIN COUNY, Miss. (WJTV) – Drivers in Rankin County should expect a lane closure on U.S. 49 this weekend.

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced the left lane of U.S. 49 southbound between Summerlin Road and Collins Road will be closed.

The closure will be from 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10.

Crews will make concrete pavement repairs associated with the U.S. 49 overlay project.

Drivers are asked to slow down and stay alert for roadside crews.
