16-year-old arrested after man shot multiple times in Jackson alley

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police arrested another teenager in connection to a shooting that critically injured a man.

Detective Tommie Brown said 16-year-old Antonio Evans was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Jackson police previously arrested 14-year-old Julius Bonner in connection to the shooting. He was also charged with aggravated assault.

The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 in the 1400 block of Porter Street.

Brown said the victim, Jacoby Jenkins, left his home on Winter Street. He was walking before he was picked up by another person.

According to Brown, the person who picked up Jenkins ordered him out of the vehicle at an alley on Porter Street. Jenkins was then shot multiple times.

He was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) where he was listed in critical condition.
