JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Mississippians headed to the polls to vote in the 2024 Presidential Primary Election.
On Tuesday morning, operations were running smoothly at voter precincts in Hinds County.
For many citizens, expressing the right to vote is extremely important.
“When I think about the things that our people went through, the struggle that they went through, I just feel like we need to get out and voice out our pain. And in this very important for us,” said Jennifer Ratliff, a voter.
Not all of the precincts saw heavy foot traffic Tuesday morning. There was only a light trickle of voters coming in at some locations. Poll workers expect an influx of people later in the afternoon when most people get off of work.
