HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Hinds County.

The incident happened on Highway 18 East near Seven Springs Road just after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east when it collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian was identified as 69-year-old Cornell Croft, of Jackson.

Troopers said Croft was pronounced deceased at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). The driver and the passenger of the Chevrolet Silverado were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
