Man shot after leaving Jackson barbershop

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot after walking out of a barbershop.

The incident happened in the 1400 block of Ellis Avenue on Saturday, March 16.

Detective Tommie Brown said the 48-year-old victim was walking out of Boss Lady Barbershop when the incident happened.

According to the victim, a group of men in the parking lot began firing shots at each other. The victim was shot in the right ankle.

The man was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) by a private vehicle for a non-life threatening injury.
