MCCOMB, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was critically injured during a weekend shooting in McComb.

McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy said the shooting happened at the intersection of Broadway Street and Canal Street around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 16.

According to Cloy, 26-year-old Timothy Diggs was shot at the location during a fight. Diggs is currently in critical condition at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb.

Cloy said the suspect, 22-year-old Javonte Wells, turned himself in to authorities several hours after the shooting.
