YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Yazoo County authorities said a female officer was stabbed multiple times by an inmate at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19.

Yazoo County Sheriff Jeremy McCoy said another inmate was also stabbed during the incident.

McCoy said the situation is under control and is currently being investigated. The staff member and the injured inmate have been treated.
