Woman accused of shooting mother in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A woman has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting her mother in Jackson.

The shooting happened in the 4500 block of Whitehaven Drive on Tuesday, March 19.

Detective Tommie Brown said the victim was shot by her daughter, 34-year-old April Hughes.

Police arrested Hughes in connection to the case, and she was charged with attempted murder.
