ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – An Alcorn County resident was served an arrest warrant following a SNAP fraud investigation conducted by the Investigations Division of the Mississippi Department of Human Service (MDHS).

Officials with MDHS said Beverly Sandoval was served an arrest warrant by authorities on February 28, 2024. She was charged with receiving $27,078.00 in SNAP benefits by not accurately reporting household income and composition accurately to MDHS.

The case was referred to the Alcorn County District Attorney’s office. The Alcorn County District Attorney secured an indictment in December 2023, and Alcorn County officials later arrested Sandoval on February 28, 2024.

“This is a great example of collaboration between our investigations team, county office, and local law enforcement,” said MDHS Inspector General Sandra Griffith.
