JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said a suspect has died after a shooting at a Jackson convenience store.

The incident happened on the Road of Remembrance on Friday, March 22.

Detective Tommie Brown said the unidentified male suspect walked into the store with a knife and started chasing an employee. Brown said the suspect was shot while trying to stab the employee. The suspect died at the scene.

Brown said the employee is being questioned by police.
