RICHLAND, Miss. (WJTV) – One Rankin County student was taken to the hospital after a school bus crash.

The crash happened on Highway 49 at Cleary Road in Richland around 7:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22.

Officials with the Rankin County School District said students were en route to school when the crash happened. They said parents and guardians of students involved in the accident were notified about the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
