JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The City of Jackson is preparing to celebrate the annual Hal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade and Festival!

The event will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024. The theme of this year’s event is “Telling the Mississippi Story.” The grand marshal will be WJTV 12 News’ Walt Grayson.

“Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival is more than just a celebration, it’s a 40-year tradition that brings the community together and honors our rich heritage in Jackson,” said Malcolm White, a founder of the parade.

As in years past, the parade and festival will raise money for Children’s of Mississippi.

Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival schedule of events:

• 7:00 a.m. – Float Lineup begins at corner of State Street and Court Street
• 9:00 a.m. –  Children’s Festival at West Street in front of Thalia Mara Hall
• 10:00 a.m. – The MARL Pet Parade at West Street in front of Thalia Mara Hall
• 11:00 a.m. – Children’s Parade (Presented by Ergon) at West Street in front of Thalia Mara Hall
• 1:00 p.m. – Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade begins at corner of State Street and Court Street
• 1:00 p.m. – Gates Open for The Official Afterparty (Presented by Capital City Beverages) at Hal & Mal’s
• 3:00 p.m. – Music Begins for The Official Afterparty (Presented by Capital City Beverages) at Hal & Mal’s
