JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The 41st Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival rolled though Downtown Jackson on Saturday.

People from all over packed the downtown area to enjoy one of the biggest parades of the year. The grand marshal of this year’s event was WJTV 12 News’ Walt Grayson.

“I have had this outfit for many years. I’ve worn it in the main parade many times on the big floats. I continue to wear it because you have to have spirit at the parade. You got to come, you got to bring, and represent the City of Jackson and let everybody know that this city still got soul,” said James Swanner, a parade-goer.

“Telling the Mississippi Story” was the theme for this year’s parade. Organizers said this event gets larger and larger every year, and attendees are looking forward to next year’s parade.
