Jackson woman pleads guilty to fatal shooting at gas station

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson woman pled guilty to second degree murder moments before her trial began.

Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Lashundra Bass was an accomplice to the murder of Marcus Moore on June 4, 2022. He said Bass witnessed another person shoot Moore in the back of the head.

Investigators said Moore was in the driver’s seat of his vehicle at a gas station parking lot at the time of the shooting. He died from his injuries.

Police identified Shydarius Williams as the shooter. They said Bass drove the vehicle that left the scene with Williams.

Bass was sentenced to 22 years in prison with two years suspended, as well a two-year post-release supervision.
