MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The man accused of shooting at officers in Olive Branch earlier this month has now been charged with two counts of attempted murder of a police officer and conspiracy.

Colby Towles, 34, also has a $1 million bond, according to the Desoto County District Attorney’s Office.

Before Towles’s charges were upgraded, he was charged with two counts of aggravated assault of an officer as well as conspiracy to commit a crime.

On March 11, a search was underway after Towles fired shots at an Olive Branch police officer during a traffic stop.

No officers were injured.

Towles fled the scene but was later captured by U.S. Marshals near the Bass Pro Angler’s Lodge Hotel in Springfield, Missouri.

Sarah Skriver, the suspect’s girlfriend, was also arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact.
