Three teens arrested for shooting death of 14-year-old in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – One of the Rankin County teenagers accused of killing a 14-year-old in Jackson appeared in court Thursday morning.

Maxle Mooneyham, 16, received a $1.5 million bond during his initial court appearance. His parents were pulled out of the courtroom after an outburst.

According to the municipal court, 17-year-old John Foote appeared in court on Wednesday. He was denied bond.

On Thursday, Detective Tommie Brown announced a third suspect was arrested in the case. He identified the suspect as 15-year-old Siyaski Crawford, of Rankin County. Crawford appeared in court Thursday afternoon and received a $1.5 million bond.

Brown said Mooneyham and Foote were both arrested on Wednesday, March 27. The teenagers were arrested with assistance from Rankin County deputies and Pearl police.

According to the detective, Mooneyham, Foote and Crawford have both been charged with murder.

Jackson police said Cameron Horne-Crook, 14, was shot and killed in the 3500 block of Ridgecrest Drive on Monday, March 25. He was shot multiple times.

Authorities said Crawford admitted to detectives that he and Mooneyham took Horne-Crook’s body out of the vehicle after he was shot in the back seat of a car.

Horne-Crook was a student at Northwest Rankin Middle School. The Rankin County School District released the following statement to WJTV 12 News.
