Jackson man convicted of killing another over iPhone, money

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson man was found guilty in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in July 2018.

Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Terrance Longino was convicted on a first-degree murder charge following a five-day trial.

Longino was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting that happened at the intersection of Eastview and Central Street on July 7, 2018. Jackson police discovered the body of 26-year-old Lee Evans at the location.

Owens said Longino shot Evans multiple times over an alleged theft of a broken iPhone and $30.

Longino was sentenced to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
