JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Visitors packed the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science in Jackson to experience a rare phenomenon.

The partial solar eclipse brought people from all over together. Families were thrilled to see the celestial event.

Although it was cloudy in Jackson, eclipse watchers were able to see the eclipse with special glasses.

“If you don’t wear the glasses, you might go blind. So, these glasses help you to not go blind,” said Aubrey Russell, a visitor.

“I thought I was going to be blind at first then I actually saw it. I saw the moon cover half of it then the rest was black,” said Aiden Floyd, a visitor.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the next solar eclipse will occur on August 12, 2026.
