CANTON, Miss. (WJTV) – The City of Canton experienced some flooding during Wednesday’s storms.

King Ranch Road, Shady Lane, and East Peace Street had standing water near the side of those roads.

“Leaving work this morning all on the road. Oh, just a little bit of flooding. A little bit on that road, kind of high waters. Not too bad. But I was know about it down the road,” said Masen Branson, who lives in Canton.

“Well, anytime we have weather like this, insurance agents are very busy because there is a uptick in insurance claims. Weather related claims storm damage, hail damage. All that affects claims activity this time of year,” said Archie Smith with All State Insurance.

Insurance agents said storms like this serve as a reminder to check your policies to make sure they have the proper amount of coverage.
