CARROLL COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – After more than 13 years on the run, a Mississippi man has been arrested.

Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker said 47-year-old Kelvin “Buck” Perry was returned to the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility.

On November 18, 2010, while out on bond for drug charges, Walker said Perry did not show up for court after a recess. The trial continued in his absence, and he was convicted and sentenced to serve 60 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He was also sentenced to serve the 18 year suspended sentence from a previous conviction.

When he took office in 2016, Walker said he began coordinating with the U.S. Marshal’s Service in an attempt to locate Perry.

On March 28, 2024, Perry was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri. He was extradited back to Mississippi on April 10, 2024.

“I appreciate the cooperation between our agencies and the community to bring this to a peaceful resolution at long last,” said Walker.
